BEST OF RODNEY MULLEN

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcbCCFb0zXI

Without skating I would have never gotten into the music that has changed my life. Without Rodney Mullen I would have never gotten into skating.

He can not be touched.

Some parts are so mind boggling that they almost look like trick photography.

PLASTERHEAD

After too many years to count, and many failed attempts, PLASTERHEAD will finally begin working on their debut album. This project has been in existence since 1994 but has had no official output besides very rough demos recorded at various times, all on home stereos. T shirts and posters were printed in 1996, long before a single sound was ever put down. And yet PLASTERHEAD has festered within the subconscious of the two band members all these years. 2012 will finally see the release of the first official PLASTERHEAD full length.

POINTE DUNE

"They say that nightmares are dreams perverted. I told them here it wasn't a nightmare--but they don't believe me. They nod, and make little notes in my file...But there's so little time left! You've GOT to listen!

"Not far from here there's a small town on the coast--they used to call it New Bethlehem, but they changed the name to Pointe Dune, after the moon turned blood red...Pointe Dune doesn't look any different than a thousand other neon-stucco towns--but what they did to me...what they're doing now...

They're coming here...they're waiting to pierce the city. They're peering around buildings at night, and they're waiting...They're waiting for you. And they'll take you...one by one, and no one will hear you scream! NO ONE WILL HEAR YOU SCREAM!"

Check out the POINTE DUNE post at http://teamguano.com/  where you can listen to (and download) the whole "Blood Moon" album for free. Also be sure to attend one of the Team Guano events whenever they pop up.

MARTIN house. Braddock Pa. May 18th 2011.

STRIGOI ON LAST FM

Special thanks to Jeff for bringing to my attention the post for STRIGOI on lastfm.com. somehow the STRIGOI record "Niflheim" was lumped in with some now defunct black metal band from Greece called "Strigoi".
So...if you want to listen to the STRIGOI from Somerton Records get the tracks from either this page, or http://suicidepath.com/ otherwise you are likely to get the wrong impression entirely.
Somerton Records has no idea how the tracks from "Niflheim" even made it to Last FM.

STRIGOI NEWS!!!

STRIGOI - "Niflheim" to get official release!

That's right..."Niflheim" the debut full length by STRIGOI will have an official release in the autumn of 2011 (the actual date has yet to be determined). Included on the cd will be the "Niflheim" album in its entirety, as well as the "Carpathian Funeral Rites" ep added as bonus tracks.

There will also be a special limited edition "extreme black metal version" which will be manufactured at Somerton Records. Adhearing to the d.i.y. ethic of black metal, the special edition will come with xeroxed covers and inserts, and be packaged in a handmade case full of genuine Transylvanian soil (no joke). The album itself will be burned on a cd-r and will be the original lo-fi necro mix in glorious mono!

Also... check out STRIGOI at suicidepath.com. And make sure to give it a 5 star rating and grab the exclusive download.

Debut Album from POINTE DUNE

20 Years in the making!!!

Jason VVhite (The Order 23) and Carmen Romeo (Guano32) have collaborated as POINTE DUNE on their debut release entitled "Bloodmoon". The album features one 72+ minute track of cascaing eerie soundscapes. When asked about POINTE DUNE Jason VVhite replied "Think Moevot and Metal Machine Music era Lou Reed making shortwave radio and e.v.p. recordings." The end result is over an hour of sonic tension that never lets go. Unsettling to say the least.

The Order 23 "A Therapy That's Failing"

"Fusing the post punk influences of Joy Division, Death In June, and Bauhaus with the pure darkness of groups like Christian Death, Samhain, and Killing Joke, The Order 23 perfectly capture the icy, grey, industrialized landscape of their hometown through "Therapy"'s stark, almost deathlike production. Behind the constant hypnotic lull of the bass, drums pound out incessant martial rhythms, while the vocals moan with disattatched stoecism, and guitars slash jagged wounds through it all. Sounds like 1980 all over again."

- T. Griffin (Bounty Hunter Records/Zine)
