PLASTERHEAD

After too many years to count, and many failed attempts, PLASTERHEAD will finally begin working on their debut album. This project has been in existence since 1994 but has had no official output besides very rough demos recorded at various times, all on home stereos. T shirts and posters were printed in 1996, long before a single sound was ever put down. And yet PLASTERHEAD has festered within the subconscious of the two band members all these years. 2012 will finally see the release of the first official PLASTERHEAD full length.

STRIGOI ON LAST FM

   Special thanks to Jeff for bringing to my attention the post for STRIGOI on lastfm.com. somehow the STRIGOI record "Niflheim" was lumped in with some now defunct black metal band from Greece called "Strigoi".
   So...if you want to listen to the STRIGOI from Somerton Records get the tracks from either this page, or http://suicidepath.com/ otherwise you are likely to get the wrong impression entirely.
   Somerton Records has no idea how the tracks from "Niflheim" even made it to Last FM.

STRIGOI - "Niflheim" to get official release!

   That's right..."Niflheim" the debut full length by STRIGOI will have an official release in the autumn of 2011 (the actual date has yet to be determined). Included on the cd will be the "Niflheim" album in its entirety, as well as the "Carpathian Funeral Rites" ep added as bonus tracks.

   There will also be a special limited edition "extreme black metal version" which will be manufactured at Somerton Records. Adhearing to the d.i.y. ethic of black metal, the special edition will come with xeroxed covers and inserts, and be packaged in a handmade case full of genuine Transylvanian soil (no joke). The album itself will be burned on a cd-r and will be the original lo-fi necro mix in glorious mono!

Debut Album from POINTE DUNE

20 Years in the making!!!

   Jason VVhite (The Order 23) and Carmen Romeo (Guano32) have collaborated as POINTE DUNE on their debut release entitled "Bloodmoon". The album features one 72+ minute track of cascaing eerie soundscapes. When asked about POINTE DUNE Jason VVhite replied "Think Moevot and Metal Machine Music era Lou Reed making shortwave radio and e.v.p. recordings." The end result is over an hour of sonic tension that never lets go. Unsettling to say the least.
